As a certified Healthy Hands Cooking Instructor with Wholesome Measures, I've turned my passion into a mission to inspire kids and their families to get back-to-basics in the kitchen and enjoy preparing meals that are balanced, and bursting with nutrients and flavour!
Life is busy! We've all been guilty of reaching for processed foods, or racing through the drive thru when life's commitments, appointments, and activities leave us running ragged. As parents, we work hard to bring balance to those times we must sacrifice quality in favour of convenience. But, it's an uphill battle.
Children and teens are bombarded with ads for restaurants, cakes, cookies, ice cream, cereal and sugar-sweetened beverages on a daily basis. It's no wonder that, according to the Government of Canada, obesity rates among children and youth in Canada have nearly tripled in the last 30 years.
I believe we can reverse that trend. I am fighting back against obesity and poor nutrition, and empowering our kids to get confident in the kitchen.
My classes offer engaging and interactive opportunities for children to learn important cooking skills and nutrition information that will lay a healthy foundation for a lifetime. These classes are so fun, they won't roll their eyes when you tell them, "It's good for you!".
